Welcome to the Baghook Blog.
Handbag Hooks are making a comeback to the UK having been popular in the early 20th century. We want to hear your comments about “Who”, “What”, “When” and especially “Where”.
Now we have a forum where we can post comments about these great little devices and hopefully get information about what is popular, where to buy and where you use them. I think at the moment a few ladies think they are a bit pretentious but if they or any of their friends have ever had a bag stolen they will soon see the benefits. So come on ladies “spread the word”
BREAKING NEWS!! Purse Angels are offering Baghook Bloggers 15% discount. Just click here (not valid for End of Line items)
Hi, I’m Michelle, one of the “Ladies” referred to in the “About Us” section above and I’m looking forward to contributing with any useful snippets I come across. I’ll also be one of the moderators ensuring that we only post relevant material so hopefully no rubbish! First snippet:- I saw a hanger which had a clock face in it a while ago but I haven’t seen them available in the UK yet. Any info greatly appreciated.
I’m Val, another of the “Ladies”. I had a bag stolen some time back from under a table at one of those fast food restaurants in the West End of London.
I did a little research into bag hangers after seeing one somewhere prior to losing my bag and I remember thinking at the time that there’s no way I’d use one of those.
Now I wouldn’t be without one.
I’ve also read a couple of articles about the dirt and stuff you can collect on the bottom of your bag which is enough to put you off for life!
“Bling is my thing!”
Hi “Ladies”
Thanks for the invitation to tell you a little about Purse Angels.
We started our web store back in 2007 selling the Ultimate, Elegance and Everyday range of bag hooks. We’ve since added Foldables and Keyfinders to the site and we now have the most extensive range of bag hooks and keyfinders in the UK.
We are always adding new designs to our stock so it’s well worth a visit now and again just to see what’s new.
As an incentive to returning customers, on every order, we give Loyalty Points which are worth 5% off future purchases.
We also keep customers up to date with what’s new and special offers through our growing mailing list.
Finally we support “Breast Cancer Campaign” with donations made from sales of our “Pink Ribbon” items.

Val mentioned the rubbish you can pick up from dirty floors and other surfaces. Purse Angels have an article which was recently published in a national magazine which will certainly get you thinking.

Just read that article. I really hate the thought of picking up all those germs on my bag and I have to admit that I do get home and plonk the bag down on a work surface without a thought. Yuk!
I bought a fantastic new Chloe a little while ago and it will definitely not be going near any grubby floors.
I also bought a couple of cheap hooks from a spanish company on Ebay a while back. They are OK but took an age to arrive. I think I’ll need something better to go with the new addition!
I’ve been trolling around the internet looking for these handbag hooks and I’d like to know if they really work. Some look a bit flimsy and like they would not hold much. Any advice out there.
Hi Lou. Welcome to the blog.
I was at the Design Centre in Islington last week and loaded down with goodies.
When we came out we went to one of the little restaurants close by and I used my purse angel to hold no less than 3 bags off the floor with no trouble at all.
The other thing is you always get people asking about them.
Are these handbag hooks only available on the internet? I have not seen any in the shops and was hoping I could have a closer look before I buy
Hi Anon.
We are a really friendly group here so you don’t have to be shy.
Seriously though, I have not seen any in the shops either but I’ve seen some cheaper types available at a craft fair locally.
It’s easy to buy on the internet and you have the right to return anything you don’t like for exchange or refund. That applies to most things you buy on the web
I saw the Purse Angels on show at the Wellbeing of Women Christmas Fair in the City of London back in December which was great because you could have a close look and try them out but I haven’t seen any in the shops either. I have a couple and they are really useful and hold quite a lot of weight. I like the foldable types best.
They also make great presents.
Oh wow! Purse Angels what a great site. I ordered the 3D Shoes hanger to go with my new bag and it arrived next day. Fantastic service. Highly recommended!
A good online supplier of these hooks is http://www.silverhooks.com . They have a pretty good selection and although they are in the US their delivery is excellent.
I’d strongly recommend them.
I first came across these in Asia where a restaurant gave me one for my bag. After some research I found Purse Angels and bought several sets for Christmas and birthday presents. Every one uses them and I am always being asked where mine came from. Even my hairdresser is ordering some as gifts for clients! They are very strong, my problem with the key holder was the sparkly bit fell off and then I lost the metal piece so cannot repair it. But hey ho!
Ruth – if you got the keyfinder from Purse Angels please get in touch and we will happily replace it for you.

Hi ladies,
I’m so glad I’m not the only one obsessed with handbag hooks! I have quite a collection and am pleased to say I bought my first handbag hanger from Purse Angels! I have been good PR for you over the last year too – tell all my mates about you.
Lol Kate xx
Just received my delivery from Purse Angels. Their baghooks are so cool!
The delivery was next day and arrived well packaged.
Thanks to fellow bloggers for your recommendations. I will definitely be buying more for Christmas gifts.
I’ve found this site via a roundabout way thanks to my Brother In law! Stuck for present ideas for him, I googled “gifts for him”. That took me to a US website for gifts and while browsing the weird and wacky range (stand up cut out Twilight characters anyone?!) , I saw a picture of handbag hangers. I remembered a conversation with a friend recently who said she normally carries one around (and I wondered what on earth she was talking about!). More recently I was looking for somewhere to hang my bag in a pub in Notting Hill and frustrated it had to stay on my shoulder!
Anyway, I decided to search out a UK site and came across this one. I have just ordered 5 – one for me and the rest as gifts. If these work as well as I hope they do I will be back for more!
And if anyone has any ideas what to get my brother in law, I’m still searching!

I am often getting comments about the bag hooks I use, such as “what a good idea” and “where did you get it” and so being me – I have been telling them!
Also I met up with a friend recently who comes from New York and when she saw me using my Purse Angels bag hook she told me her mother used to use a bag hook as well (her mother was a society lady who lived in New York between 1940-1950).
Plus, being something of a coffee addict, having a bag hook handy is something of godsend because there is never anywhere to put my handbag apart from on the floor and I don’t like sitting there with my bag on my lap whilst drinking my latte.
I have purchased key finders and handbag holders for myself and family members in UK and we find them most useful. I would now like to find a key finder which beeps when you whistle or clap your hand for times when you have put down your keys and forgotten where.
Thanks for any consideration.
Hi Lucy
I can’t help you with the above but Purse Angels have just released a keyfinder light which is proving really popular.

Hello,
I was asked to come up with a small gift idea for the Chairman and his wife which they could present to ladies of the committee of a retired national newpaper fellowship organisation. It was mentioned I should look into lip-stick cases etc. but instead I looked at handbag hooks which I felt would be far more useful. I purchased 20 bag hooks for a presentation gift on behalf of a 90 year old gentleman (Chairman). They arrived the next day and your staff with whom I dealt with over the telephone were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. He and his wife were over-the-moon, with the idea, quaility and selection I can only hope that the ladies receiving these gifts are as delighted (which I truly feel they will be) as Tom, Pam and myself.
I was so pleased with the inexpensive selection that I purchased several more which I could give to my family and friends at the Christmas dinner table on Christmas Day.
I am a very satified customer.
Kind regards,
Yvonne
